My name is Tasyana “Tasy” Thelusmond, I am 23 years old and I am the founder and president of Zoë Entertainment Group, LLC. I was born in Brooklyn, New York but was raised here in South Florida. I grew up in a single parent household and was taught from early on, the principles of working hard and diligently toward achieving my goals. Although I was uncertain of what career path I wanted to pursue, I never strayed from my interest from special event coordination and production. The first two years of college really ignited and fueled the passion I have for putting together events. I began volunteering with a particular group at Florida International University and though I worked full-time at a couple financial institutions, my heart was always with event planning. Because I couldn’t ignore what I know God placed in my heart, I started Zoë Entertainment Group, LLC in November 2010. Zoë Entertainment Group is a special events company that specializes in coordinating events such as fashion shows, conferences, lecture series and concerts. We at Zoë also sit and meet with potential clients and provide packaging to suit their desires for a particular event. Our ultimate goal is to brand Zoë Entertainment Group as an industry leading special events company.
How did you come up with the name?
It’s my belief that many times people walk away from Christianity or their walk with Christ because of the negative light that’s associated with “Christian-living.” The word “Zoë” (pronounced dzō-ay) is from Greek origin meaning “life” and “of absolute fullness of life both essential and ethical, which belongs to God and through Him.” I believe that when you become a Christian, you do not stop having fun nor “living” because that is not the will of God for His people. It is not God’s will for believers to be miserable and unhappy or to shun themselves from the world. Zoë Entertainment is all about revealing the abundance of life through music, dance, plays, fashion shows and conferences that everyone can appreciate and enjoy.
What are you hoping to accomplish with this?
My mission is to transform lives through events that empower, enlighten and that also take Christianity outside the status quo. Zoë’s priority is to have a positive impact on the lives of every client, investor or attendee of our concerts, summits and conferences. We prioritize ourselves in community involvement and equipping people for success. Zoë Entertainment guarantees events that are executed with a level of class and sophistication that matches no other. Our events are not simply just for entertainment on a certain occasion, but also to transform, uplift and empower the lives we come in contact with.
Do you have a team helping you?
As of now I am currently working with Ruach Studios and Golden Touch Productions on a stage play that’s premiering in May. Aside from that I have a small team that assists me in solidifying venues and booking.
What’s the latest project you’ve worked on?
A few months ago, I helped put together a Financial IQ Workshop. It was a free event that brought together financial experts that gave information, advice and answered the attendees’ questions. The response was so great that I am considering bringing it back hopefully in April of this year.
How long were you thinking about launching your company?
I honestly had been thinking about launching ZEG for three or four years now, but I let fear keep me from going forward. I finally realized that fear will only cripple me so I decided to step out on faith and here I am now.
Any upcoming events?
“Loose Lips” The stage play about Chloe, a gossip columnist, who takes her job too far when she begins to expose the secrets of her loved ones.
